I cannot really explain how challenging I found this book and how glad I am that it was. In it J. John explains how the 10 Commandments are not archaic rules for a people in a time long ago but how relevant they really are today for all professing believers and also how they are not 10 individual and separate rules for living but are in fact inextricably linked to each other providing a whole life model for Christian living in the 21st Century.

The Resurrection Factor – Josh McDowell

This is by no means a new publication but it is an excellent resource for this Lent and Easter period. Researched over a thirteen year period Josh McDowell examines and amasses evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus as a historical event. The result has incredible implications for life in the twenty first century and I wholeheartedly commend this book to you as an invaluable tool to boost your belief.

Facing your Giants – Max Lucado

Set against the story of David’s rollercoaster rise from shepherd to King and beyond, Max Lucado skilfully presents us with a range of insights as to how we might best not only fend off but defeat our own Goliaths, in whatever form they may take. This is an easy to read book interspersed with examples from the author’s own life, and that of others, which I personally could readily identify with, and which I found very helpful.
